August 2025
Dear Hinsdale Families,
I hope this message finds you rested, recharged, and ready for an exciting new school year! As summer draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the beautiful weather we’ve enjoyed these past couple of months. From sunny skies to warm breezes, it’s been a season full of opportunities to spend time outdoors, connect with family and friends, and take a well-deserved break. I trust that your summer has been as refreshing and restorative as ours here at Hinsdale Central.
As we gear up for the 2025–2026 school year, I’m filled with excitement for what’s ahead. This year brings some important changes and new faces to our school community—each one contributing to our ongoing mission of creating a safe, supportive, and academically challenging environment for every student.
Welcome to Our New Principal
We are thrilled to welcome Tyler Sard as the new Principal of Hinsdale Central School. He started with us in July and hit the ground running. He has led our code of conduct committee meetings, cell phone policy meetings and has 1:1 with staff members to learn about Hinsdale’s school community. He has a strong passion for student success, he brings fresh ideas, high energy, and a deep commitment to our school’s values. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students, staff, and families.
New School Security Officer on Campus
The safety of our students and staff will always be our top priority. This year, we are pleased to introduce Jed Murphy as our new School Security Officer. He brings valuable experience and a proactive approach to building strong relationships with students while maintaining a secure school environment at all times.
Cell Phone Law Implementation
In accordance with the new New York State cell phone law, we will be implementing updated policies regarding cell phone use during the school day. While we recognize the importance of technology in our daily lives, this policy aims to minimize distractions and enhance student focus and academic engagement. Thank you to all of the families that attended our cell phone informational night. Your partnership is invaluable.
We understand that change can bring questions, and we are committed to open communication as we transition together. We truly believe that these changes will help strengthen our school culture and better support the success of all students.
Looking Ahead
Our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, refining curriculum, and planning exciting opportunities for learning and growth. The enthusiasm across the district is noticeable—we are ready, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back!
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 3rd, and we hope to see many of you at our Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, August 27th from 5:00-6:30pm where you’ll have a chance to meet new staff, reconnect with familiar faces, and learn more about what’s ahead this school year.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s make 2025–2026 a year to remember. GO BOBCATS!
Warm regards,
Tiffany Giannicchi
