    Title I Literacy Program

    What is Title I?


    Title I is a federal program in which districts receive funding to provide additional support for students that qualify.  Children meeting the criteria will receive supplemental services in the area of English Language Arts. 



    Why provide Title I support?


    Research shows that most students in the program make measurable gains in their academics.


    How do students receive Title I assistance?


    There are two different designs that are used to administer additional support to students.  The first is in a small group setting to work on individual needs.  The second is by receiving supplementary support within their regular ELA classroom. 



    What is the criteria to qualify for Title I?


    Students will qualify for intervention based on:

    • State Assessments
    • Teacher recommendation
    • Parental concern
